ABOUT
PROJECT 1 LIFE

Project 1 Life is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit with the primary goal of reducing the number of Young Adult and teen deaths from illicit prescription drug abuse and fentanyl poisoning.
As a nonprofit, we educate young people on the dangers of prescription drug abuse and the now surging epidemic of counterfeit 'fenta-pills.’ Further, we empower teens and young adults to share their knowledge with other members of their community through our Ambassador Program and other resources.

We have 1 life and it takes 1 pill to end it all.

Hi, I’m Avery.
“I founded Project 1 Life in 2020 after the loss of my cousin to a fake Percocet that contained a deadly dose of Fentanyl. It wasn’t until his death that I realized how pervasive prescription drug abuse and associated Fentanyl poisoning have become, specifically among young adults. In fact, while much has been written about COVID-19, the media has focused far too little on the fact that Fentanyl has taken more lives of Americans between the ages of 18-35 than COVID and its variants.” - Kalafatas, 16

Focus on Education
The little education that is provided about prescription drug abuse and Fentanyl is targeted towards adults, not created and presented to teens and college students. If schools aren’t teaching this important information to students, then teens and young adults must find other ways to share this potentially life-saving content with one another. That’s where Project 1 Life comes in.

Spread Awareness
As Project One Life spread’s its message, we aim to reduce prescription drug abuse and rates of Fentanyl poisoning among young people. It’s important to remember that the prescription drug epidemic does not discriminate. Teens and young adults from all walks of life have been caught in the snare of substance abuse. With the increased prevalence of Fentanyl in street drugs, such users are at an even heightened risk of serious injury or death.
The time is now. The call is urgent.
